La Ortodoncista (The Orthodontist)

That's right, I'm an ortodoncista (orthodontist)...well not really, but close enough. Last week I had to do my own dental work. Before I left for Madrid my wonderful orthodontist, Dr. Williams, gave me a "goodie-bag" of orthodontic supplies -complete with 2 sets of chain, the pointy thing to remove it, and the clampy thing to put it on. <--- such a vast knowledge I have of orthodontical(not a word)vocabulary. At any rate, my task was much more simple than I thought. They over-tied my top wires and removed the leading arches of my expander yay! All I had to do was replace the chain on my bottom teeth, and crank my expander.

This was the old chain that I removed with pictured pointy object.
It turns out that removing the chain was the hardest part for me, because I had to unhook the loop of the chain on my back brackets without spearing myself in the mouth. Hands of a surgeon!

Let's hope next time goes just as smoothly.

All done!
After doing this myself, I have only one question: why am I paying someone to do something that I could do myself? I guess the D.D.S behind his name has something to do with it. In 6 weeks I will do this again. Purple chain is next on deck. Let's hope that nothing catastrophic happens between now and my next ortho-visit.

Hasta luego!
